ALEX S. YU- A REVIEW
A perfect opening for the final night of Vancouver Fashion Week was the vibrant collection "Capsule 001" by ALEX S. YU. The show started with a video montage showing fresh-faced young women being every that is now. Welcome to the tick-tock generation going full-on. This collection is a celebration of streetwear designed to live a fabulous joyful life. Playful, sometimes frothy, and, certainly "styling". This youth-quake shook.
Despite the feast of colors from lilac to green, orange to pink, the focus was on shapes and fabrics. The silhouettes that stood out strongest amongst the vast array of mix and match skirts, tops, and jackets, were the oversized baby-doll dresses. The dresses featured puffed sleeves and exaggerated proportions. The first one in quilted orange nylon is sure to turn heads. The baby pink version with a matching bucket hat was a show-stealer.
ALEX S. YU
The collection had a variety of fabrics, from quilted nylon, fleece, and tulle, to name a few. A monogram print with an A standing for Alex was produced in several fabrics, and used on bucket hats, tights, and knit tops. Custom prints add in creating a recognizable brand. Mini skirts with matching jackets are easily wearable, filling out the collection with countless options for the fashion-savvy young customer. A neon green tulle dress and a lilac tulle dress some up this bright, cheerful collection.
Alex S. Yu has a brand that speaks to his hip customers. The clothes told a story of optimism, hope, and joy in perhaps what has been the most difficult time in recent history. Yu focused on his strengths in designing youthful womenswear. Alex S. Yu successfully created a collection of "look at me fashion" that will turn heads.

Tis the season. Since it is now November, it's time to start your Christmas list. However, we all reach a certain age when a gift list seems silly. Furthermore, why leave your gifts to fate when you can choose exactly what you want. That also means the right size, and by ordering now, you will be sure to receive your gifts well before the holidays. Therefore my dears I have searched out gifts, that every girl needs to treat herself this festive season.
