Wearing All Black ; Consider breaking it up

Wearing all black has become somewhat of a “thing” and I wonder why. Black is the absorption of all color and the absence of light. There are many women we all know who wear only black.Wearing all black is often seen as being stylish , I agree, but can can come across as boring.Wearing all black may harken to your goth past or cast you as a wonton widow. I  won’t try to discourage those committed to wearing all black, but will do my best to encourage breaking it up with pattern, color or texture.

Wearing All Black ; break it with Pattern or Color

Wearing all black , can be seen as drab and boring. The two pictures above show how an all black outfit can be brought to life by adding color or pattern. In the first picture adding the black and white scarf helps draw attention to the face. The contrast of the scarf and bag break up this outfit.

The second look adds both pattern and color to brighten up this black suit. An all black suit is a mainstay in your wardrobe . So many looks can be created by adding color and texture to a black suit. My recommendation is to purchase a black suit that comes with slacks and a skirt. Whether you choose an all black suit contrasting slacks can add another option.

When wearing black consider adding a bright color like in the picture below with the blue scarf. The great thing about wearing black is you can add whatever is your favorite color. The color options are endless therefore  they  can give you many looks out of one outfit.

The other look above shows black slacks with a patterned top again giving a nice option . Contrasting black with pattern or color  will always give you a variety of options hence expanding your wardrobe.

Most of us wear  black , but that doesn’t mean we have to be drab and boring. Take the plunge and consider adding some color or pattern to your wardrobe. I am tired of the all black look and hope I have inspired you to consider shaking it up.
