DRESS COZY A VANCOUVER BRAND BRINGS FINESSE TO THE VFW RUNWAY

DRESS COZY

Dress Cozy showed their collection at Vancouver Fashion Week on October 26; I was excited to share about this vibrant new brand, which has the potential to significantly impact the Vancouver, Canadian, and International fashion markets.

Carol Botelho, the founder and creative mind behind Dress Cozy, created her brand after becoming a mother and struggling to find clothes that reflected her identity as a woman.

Debuting at Vancouver Fashion Week, Custom Luxe represents the next stage in the brands journey. With a focus on natural fabrics and refined tailoring, this collection brings a touch of sophistication to the brand’s core values of comfort and sustainability. Excerpt from VFW Website

A REVIEW

Dress Cozy was created by its designer, Carol Botelho, to address the lack of fashionable, comfortable clothing that reflects contemporary womanhood. "I found it challenging to find clothing I wanted to wear as a young, fashionable mother." Botelho brings her unique perspective to the table. Originally from Brazil, Carol's connection to her heritage and love for comfortable, stylish clothing led her to build a brand that speaks to modern women.

"Tall and tanned and young and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking." Or dancing, as the case may be. Dancing down the runway came a collection that fast-forwarded the audience to a spring and summer array of vibrant, lively, sustainable clothing.

The brand unites a philosophy of comfort, inclusive sizing, and zero waste in a collection of dresses, flowing trousers, tailored vests, blazers, and more. The Custom Luxe collection uses natural fabrics like linen and cotton, giving it a tactile and streamlined appeal. The show opens with a two-piece white cropped top and trousers with sculptured white flowers, setting the tone for a feminine and impeccably constructed collection.

The uncluttered silhouettes of floor-grazing dresses in buttery yellow and sky blue can take you from the poolside to the dance floor. The designer also uses softly structured tailoring in a linen suit detailed with raw edges and wooden buttons and a sophisticated lime green blazer with sleeves detached at the shoulder held on with fabric straps and worn with a metal gray column dress. All the garments exude an aura of comfort combined with elegance.

DRESS COZY

"A Day In Rio - Custom Luxe" is a collection whose clothes perfectly match the runway choreography and presentation. As the models danced down the runway, the garments equalled the energy. A trio of tropical prints add vibrant colour and pattern. The patterns served as a reminder that this brand is bringing Rio to the northern hemisphere. The closing black and white dress has a drop waist and rectangular bodice reflecting clean lines. Serving summer, this line gives us a reason to escape in style to a winter getaway at a resort or on a cruise.

Designer  Carol Botelho skillfully blends tailored pieces with flowing, fluid dresses that sway with every step. Each piece adds to a narrative of chic, effortless elegance with versatility and flair. This collection is built on modern wardrobe staples. Rather than reinventing the wheel, the designer refines it. The backless sexy dresses, the billowy trousers, and the tailored vests all add to make pieces that women want to wear. This collection exudes joy, with wearable clothes imbued with the designer's Brazilian sensibilities. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what this brand offers in the future.
